About the Practice
PHILOSOPHY
I’ve always enjoyed and been fascinated by medicine and how it works. Animals, like children, are innocent and cannot take care of themselves or say where the discomfort is. It only seemed right to combine the animals I loved with my fascination for medicine.

As I saw the pet and human population grow older, the need for a mobile veterinary service became evident – and not just a doctor who comes to your home for vaccinations – but a service that provides transportation to and from the hospital, as well as, medical, surgical, and diagnostic care. This custom-made hospital was the first of its kind in Pennsylvania. It has filled the void for the elderly, the handicapped, and families where both parents work or there are multiple pets.

Sometimes, because a pet is too frightened or aggressive, it simply cannot be handled or transported to the veterinary hospital by its owner. The emotional stress of the sick pet is also significantly decreased. When we enter someone’s home, we generally sit right on the floor to be on the same level as the pet. We allow them to come over to us and get familiar as if we were visitors. Most times my physical examination is performed without the pet experiencing the stress of an office visit – the stress of a car ride, or perhaps being placed in a carrier, the fearful recognition when the car turns the corner onto the street where the veterinarian’s office is located.

The overall positive effects of this kind of service speak for themselves. The convenience to both pets and owners is commented upon frequently.
